VW South Charlotte Contributes to Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center
Volkswagen of South Charlotte has made a generous contribution to Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center. Urban Ministry Center provides basic services to over 400 neighbors experiencing homelessness each day: a soup kitchen, showers, laundry, telephone, counseling and more.
In addition, they have set out to help some of Charlotte’s most vulnerable citizens by leading Housing First Charlotte Mecklenburg, an effort to END chronic homelessness. So far, their coalition of 27 (nonprofits, corporations, government offices, and houses of faith) has housed 409 chronically homeless individuals, people who have been homeless longer than one year and suffer at least one disability.
Every solution Urban Ministry Center employs to end homelessness includes a community component and Volkswagen of South Charlotte is proud to be a part of their important mission. You can help too by volunteering or providing a Welcome Home Kit for a newly-housed neighbor.
